One month of creation in the heart of an artists’ village in China.
Artists are invited to take part in a 30-day residency in Lishui, Zhejiang Province, at the Guyan Huaxiang Art Center, a cultural village renowned for its artistic heritage and spectacular natural environment.
This region is shaped by over 1,500 years of history, notably through the Tongji Weir irrigation system, now recognized as a World Heritage site, and has given rise to what is known in China as the “Lishui Barbizon,” referring to a tradition of artistic practice deeply connected to the observation of nature.
Situated between mountains, rivers, and ancient villages, Lishui is one of the most ecological cities in China and has, for decades, been a true source of inspiration for artists, particularly in painting, photography, and landscape-based practices.
This residency offers an ideal environment to fully dedicate oneself to creation while discovering a different artistic and cultural scene. It is part of an international program offering visibility in both Europe and China.
